<h2>1. What do you understand about the product?</h2>I come across multiple products in my daily life that surprises me, those products could be a useful tool, an informative article or an interesting video. Our own native browser be it chrome or “arc” these days have a feature called “bookmarks” to store these products. If we dig down a bit, I find the native bookmark feature misses a lot of fundamental things which could add to a user’s productivity.<post-attachment id="8lrd0913d5wt" file_type="image/png" width="888" height="609"></post-attachment> We have different types of information stored in bookmarks, and I think there is no proper structure in the native “bookmarks“ feature of a browser to store the information we find on the internet. Although Chrome has introduced the folders to segregate stuff still I feel that it’s not very intuitive to access the information from there. Also, one of the most fundamental problem is searching through “bookmarks“ and that’s where Stacks comes in. Stacks gives you knowledge superpowers with search recommendations from your bookmarks and shared links. It can basically act as a search engine for bookmarks.<blockquote>Stacks provides structure to your knowledge vault and help you access information at fingertips.</blockquote><h2>2. Why do you think these products matter?</h2>There is a lot of information overload these days and to manage your knowledge vault you need something like Stacks or Raindrop which helps you manage your bookmarks in an efficient way.It can boost your productivity while serving the most important things you need at the right time with minimal efforts.<h2>3. What are the product issues you identified and why do you think these issues matter to our users?</h2><h3>Performance Improvements</h3>One of the important issues I noticed was a bug where the collections somehow vanished, even though I had multiple collections created and I have to reload to get it back. This could be a performance issue which can matter a lot since collections and bookmarked links seems to be north star for the product and optimising the performance could result in retaining more users.<post-attachment id="snseybxwp4pd" file_type="image/png" width="1916" height="874"></post-attachment>Other Frontend optimisation could be done to use unique keys in the mapped elements to help improve the performance while creating the virtual DOM and rendering the elements.<post-attachment id="fs7fhbkvhmtp" file_type="image/png" width="1912" height="878"></post-attachment><h3>Product Improvements</h3><post-attachment id="v1y516iob5v0" file_type="image/png" width="1622" height="900"></post-attachment>I have personally used a tool called <a class="prose-link" target="_blank" href="https://bmrks.com/">bmrks.com</a> created by <a class="prose-link" target="_blank" href="http://rauno.me">rauno.me</a> for managing my bookmarks and stuffs I find on the internet. One of the key things I liked in this is that it’s a keyboard-first product which developers love to use ( especially vim addicts ), so there’s pretty much a keyboard shortcut for every action that’s required to navigate the product. This may seem a small thing but a lot of people optimise for speed in their workflow and going keyboard-first will definitely help users to navigate fast and access things faster than ever.
